ampersand chart

I love this letterpress chart from Douglas Wilson for two reasons:

First, in typography, the ampersand is usually the way a designer can show a little bit of individual style and artistic flair in their type design. Essentially, it becomes a design element all on its own. This chart puts 61 of those elements onto one page, creating a celebration of the individuality of each type designer.

Second, I started wearing glasses when I was seven years old, so I’ve stared at my fair share of eye charts. This is by far the prettiest one.
