One of my favorite excursions on our nyc trip was the gondola ride we took in central park. This was such a touristy thing to do (and mainly touristy couples who are about to propose/be proposed to, according to our gondola guide). But I loved every minute of it.

There is only one gondola in central park – and it just so happens to be a real, life venetian gondola. Straight from Venice (according to our gondola guide). It was cute.

We also got run into a few times by people renting the row boats. That happens a lot to the gondola (according to our gondola guide).

I’ve never seen Central Park from that perspective, though, which is why I enjoyed it so much… out in the middle of the water in an escape from city life. The city is so quiet from inside central park.

The first photo is by my sis. Check out more of our nyc photos on her blog (she has all the good pics, so you’ll definitely want to see them).

PS – You can reserve gondola rides at central park here.
