oronoco bay park

October 1, 2012

Life has changed a lot for us over the past year and a half. But some things stay the same, and the new pieces of our life sort of fit into the familiar places we’ve grown to love.

Oronoco Bay Park has been a favorite escape for me and Tim for several years. We’ve biked to the park, spent evenings in conversation on a bench watching the sailboats on the Potomac. Sometimes picnicking and sometimes just sitting – a place to catch a breath from the hurry of life.  Emerson comes with us now. It’s still the same comfortable place, but now we see the park through new eyes. She likes the airplanes flying in to Reagan National Airport. The open area is great for running and stumbling. She notices the dogs being walked on the gravel path.

It’s sort of beautiful how your favorite places in life adapt to you.
